THE WEATHER

It is mainly dry and hot during the months of May through September with a temperature that fluctuates between 80 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. From October to March the temperature drops drastically fluctuating from 35 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

CURRENCY

The circulating currencies are the Mexican Peso and the U.S. Dollar, without leaving out the Canadian Dollar that during the winter season circulates with greater frequency.

There are Banking Institutions with ATM’s that ease the exchange and disposition of money. There are also several “multi-service” establishments (Exchange Places) that as well facilitate the operations of cashing documents and currency.

THE TIME

San Felipe, as well as the United States West Coast, is set at the Pacific Standard Time making the changes simultaneously for the summer time.

CLOTHING

Depending on the weather conditions of this Port, the most recommended one is light clothing and pastel colors, and trying to avoid dark clothing on the summer time. For the winter months, it is recommended dark sports clothing with wind breakers or light sports wear.

It is also recommended for formal situations suits for men and designer clothes for ladies.

If you are attending a sports event, you should dress according to the activity you will carry out, and by taking into account the season.

IMMIGRATION PROVISIONS

These are governed by the Department of the Interior through the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INM abbreviation in Mexico) that establishes that for a foreigner to get the correspondent permit and come into the country in a temporary way, vacationing, artistic activity, cultural activity, sports activity, non-profit or unpaid, and with a temporary stay extended by 6 months he/she must present the following requirements:

  • His/her current passport and/or Original Birth Certificate. Original Driver’s Licence or the Social Security Card.
  • The price for the immigration form today is $237.00 pesos (Two Hundred and Thirty Seven Pesos 00/100 National Currency. $22.00 dollars)
